Flood Warnings

Looks like we may have flooding again

There is flash flooding expected in the low lying areas, river crossings and causeways between Cape St. Francis and Port Alfred tomorrow morning the 05 July 2011.

Hope you're going to be OK.
There has been extensive flooding for several weeks in central Canada due to the heavy rains and runoff from snow melting in the north.
The army has been called in to help with sandbagging, etc.

Yeah I should be ok as I live on a hill so the lower areas just have to be avoided. This is the thing with our city lots of vallies and the low areas towards the coastal area

They just broadcast another warning over the radio on my way home tonight. They are expecting over 100 mm to fall tomorrow morning

Yes and taking into consideration the ground is saturated already and we have water still trying to drain from this last weeks rain I think we may have a problem

Saturday my water pipes were frozen.

Hi Dave, you are getting wet and us up on the reef next to the Klipriver are freezing. Minus degrees every morning and once the wind pick up the cold slices through your body. I can't remember when last it was this cold. Definitely not biking weather.

Thanks, well it is raining as they said it would not sure how much so far and will only really know when I leave for work later

Had a bit of a drizzle my end but damn! It's COLD out. Temps dropped to 3c and getting worse with the wind. Lit both fires in the house hoping it'll give some warmth - our house is so cold you could hang meat in it! :y8: But I have to go to the office tonight for an 8pm conference call to the US! Going to freeze in my office.

Carl as I said I am lucky as I only know its flooding when I start moving to the lower lying areas

This is the little stream that flows in the valley a few streets from my house



And this is what it looked like further down towards the sea. You can see how deep the valley is now I say on the top part further up from this
