I have to get up to speed quickly because if you looked at all new threads today you will have noticed I'm going into space soon and the GoPro will be mounted in the nose of my craft. :y16:

Well Kevin if Harry shows up let me know so I can come down. I want to watch (from a distance) when he lights the fuse on your rocket.

Posting with Tapatalk while riding my Tiger 955i at 15 over the speed limit.

well when you do get it Kevin,as its the latest and greatest from GoPro,us other GP users will be looking for a full review, with pics of course.:y15:

OK, the GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition that I have ordered failed to turn up on Friday as promised, after talking with the section manager they assure me the first one in will be mine but they are back peddling on a delivery date. These things are said to be the newest and best just now but come in at $498 + $40 for a suction mount. I also found out that the super quality that I'm paying for is beyond the capability of new TVs to actually reproduce. Hmmm.
I went out this afternoon and purchased a very cheap competitor to the GoPro only $99 with suction mount.
My plan is to use the $99 unit and if it's OK then that's it, I've saved $439. If it is lacking I'll get the GoPro and have 2 cameras. I can use them for forward and rear shots or put the cheap one in the car, no problems.
Now come the rub, I've already made a couple of vids that I'm reasonably happy with but what do I use to edit then down to a short and hopefully interesting version?

Kev,
there is a link to a reveiw on the 3 black, silver and white in the equipment and editing section.
I moved it there today.
Its highly likely the silver may be more than adequate for your needs at quite a bit less $

I got together yesterday with some friends to tastes single malts on St Andrews Day. My head feels like we "drunk the lot".
