I should report that mine is also resettable in the menus, and it is a first off the boat XC that was bought in USA/Pennsylvania. I bought it the day after they unboxed and assembled it as the first to arrive at the dealership, so maybe it could be that it was locked out in a software update, if it isn't a regional thing.

on mine it's just menu>bike menu>service>reset.

From memory I believe there was a confirmation after that, but I don't recall for sure, and dont want to go another step and reset is if there isn't , since I'm not due for service for another few months.

Here is a quick video I just took showing the menus, sorry for the poor quality, but my phone doesnt want to focus on the screen.

It looks to me like that's setting/resetting by date. I believe we can all reset the schedule by date, what we can't do is reset by mileage/kms without DealerTool or variants.

I think this is why there's confusion and disagreement about who can and who cannot reset the service interval.

On the 2019 Scrambler 1200 XC, in the main menu, Bike Setup, then Service menu, it does show miles and date values but no option to Reset. See page 47 of the Scrambler 1200 Owner Manual.

I seen a video showing the “reset”option. Maybe it’s available in some regions or the dealer may have remove it.

Hope this helps future readers.

Once your annual service interval has passed you can reset the date using the bike menu. When the mileage/kms interval has been exceeded it can only be reset via the OBD2 connector by a dealership or 3rd party tool such as DealerTool.

Prove me wrong people! lol.

Pretty sure you are right. I have been resetting it annually when I performed service, but am still 300 mile shy of 10,000 miles which is my first major maintenance interval. I just checked and it is showing service due in just over 300 miles. So i have been resetting the date based maintenance, but not the mileage interval. I sure hope TuneECU will be able to reset that since I'm likely to hit it this week.

I'm sure TuneECU will let you but I have DealerTool so I can only say for sure that DealerTool does.

So I went over 10K and the wrench lit up, so I tried to reset it through the menu and can confirm that @RockyDS is correct. The menu item will let you reset the maintenance counter for the annual service but not for the 10K mileage based service interval. Mine did let me reset it for the 500 mile break-in oil change, but at the 10K mark it will reset the due date but not the mileage portion and will not turn off the wrench light. TuneECU did work for that, so there is another option in addition to dealer tool for anyone who does their own maintenance.

Woo Hoo! I love being right. It doesn't happen often.

Having an issue for some reason getting rid of the damn wrench icon on my 2020 scrambler 1200xc. I can see the mileage update on the instrument panel when I update it with dealertool but I can't seem to update the date on the service interval. I am following the instructions as per the dealertool page. Same date on computer and bike, shut off kill switch and ignition between changes, etc.... The only way I'm able to get rid of the light is to set the date on the bike back earlier. Anyone else come across this? My bike doesn't have the reset option in the service menu.

If you've reset the mileage/km interval with DealerTool, you should be able to reset the annual interval using the bike menu.

I don't understand why setting the date on the bike earlier would remove the service light because that would be increasing the interval??

There is no option in the instrument panel menu for reset on the date.

Maybe they changed something on the 2020 model. Mine is a 2019 and works as follows ...

Press the menu button below the r/h grip and scroll to Bike Setup on the Main Menu;

On the next menu scroll down and select Service;

On the Service page select Reset.

DSCN6239.JPG,

Obviously I didn't reset mine today as my light isn't on and the service isn't due until Jun 2022, but I reset it this way when I serviced my bike this year on 26 Jun.
