Well, it's all about what makes you happy. If you like working then there is no reason to stop I suppose, but life shouldn't be all about work.
Retirement doesn't mean sitting in a rocking chair all day. You need hobbies and interests to keep you busy and your mind sharp. If you don't have those then you will just go to seed.
If your financial situation is soild, and will be for the foreseeable future, then you owe it to your self to at least cut back on work or give it up altogether.
But as always, only you know what's best for you.

Very true Rocky, very true. And as stated I hope one day to to "get the gold watch" as they say. However I am "starting over" on my "second life", had one that was going great and possibly semi or early retirement was in the future, but a wife that got the "keys disease" (read drunken partying and running around) Put a stop to all that....cost me hundreds of thousands and landed me back at square 1. 4 years gone from that now and rebuilding, it will all be good in due time. :y2:
I agree as well with the hobbies. I had an Uncle who retired from 40 years of factory work his only "want" was to see the Ohio State Buckeyes play all season (he worked a lot of Saturdays) 3rd game of the season, sitting on the couch, he had a massive heart attack.....he shoulda kept moving I think....but he went doing what he wanted.
I do take time now and again to smell the roses ....if I don't Shannon MAKES ME!!! :y15:

Well it looks like SAFA (SA Football Association) and the CAF Cup organisers left it all too late. We'll cobble together some kind of system from what we've got and will only be able to give them basic radio communications.

This means that I won't have to work over the Christmas period. :y2:

My injured ankle has recovered and I'm back jogging again :y13:. So I can eat what I like :y16: and I can see a number of braais,

happening over the next week or so. :y2::y2:

I am also planning to trade in my fantastic 3yr old, 34,000km, Tiger 1050 next month for a new shiny blue fully-farkled Tiger 800. I'll also start planning my big trip to Namibia which I intend doing around April/May next year. Beats working!
