I suppose they have alternative electric sources, I see here they do use a few other methods.

Yes, in order, they are probably using solar (when possible), biomass, geothermal, and hydroelectric. So, to be truthfully accurate, the trains are using 100% wind when available, and are supplemented when necessary with other renewable sources.

I actually support renewable energy (I took university classes in that area), but I am OCD about being completely honest about where the energy comes from when the renewable source is unavailable. In the USA, the gov't and the power companies like to report "we just added 500 Megawatts of solar or wind powered electricity on this area." What they DO NOT report is they also added the equivalent amount in traditional sources to maintain the supply when the sun isn't shining or the wind isn't blowing. That is not honesty.

If you pretend to understand your baby, they might start talking sooner. Studies show infants whose parents respond to them in conversational patterns have better language skills and more vocalization during their toddler years- because if they can understand early on that speech elicits a reaction, they are more likely to use words to get...

I am also all for renewable energy but unfortunately we are still very far from even being close to that here. They just built a huge coal plant a few years back then still has not been opened.

Researchers say the ‘Elf on the Shelf’ sends a negative message to kids, because an elf that’s always watching but never interacting with them teaches them to accept a surveillance state. It can also be really confusing because it’s the only toy they have that can’t be touched or played with. (Source, Source 2)

Traditional nativity scenes in Catalonia sometimes include a figure of a guy pooping. He’s called the Caganer, which literally means ‘crapper’ in Catalan. He’s been around since at least the 18th century, and he’s usually hiding in the corner with his pants pulled down. (Source, Source 2)

Star Trek’s James Doohan was a D-Day hero. At the invasion of Normandy, he killed two snipers and successfully led his men through a mine field. He was also shot four times in the leg, once in the finger, and once in the chest – but a cigarette case his brother gave him was in...

In Brazil, the dolphins that team up with local fishermen have their own accent. For over 160 years, wild dolphins have been helping humans catch more fish by signaling when they should cast their nets. Because they use their own unique whistles even around other dolphins, scientists think they may be trying to distinguish themselves...

Twice as many soldiers died from disease than battle injuries during the American Civil War. Dysentery and chronic diarrhea were so prevalent that there was an honor code among soldiers – you couldn’t shoot a man while he was pooping. (Source, Source 2, Source 3)

Michael Jackson was a huge Weird Al Yankovic fan. Not only did he let Al do parodies of ‘Bad’ and ‘Beat it’, he also let him use the actual ‘Bad’ subway set for the ‘Fat’ music video and helped convince other artists to let him use their songs, too. (Source, Source 2, Source 3)

Scientists used a confocal laser microscope to map the topography of an IHOP flapjack. When they compared the relative change in elevation to the US Geological Survey’s data for the state of Kansas, they were able to confirm that Kansas really is “flatter than a pancake.” (Source, Source 2, Source 3)

Lewis and Clark brought mercury chloride, a strong laxative, with them on their expedition across the US. Because the mercury it contains passes right through the system, archaeologists have been able to find their trail by locating what’s left of their makeshift latrines and testing the mercury content. More than 100 years later, their footpaths...

Vivian from Paper Mario 2004 is a transgender woman. It is openly stated in the Japanese version that she ‘appears to be a girl but is really a boy’ seeking acceptance from her sisters, who finally see her as female in the end. The entire story was censored in America. (Source)
