Ouch Hemi that sucks hope your back is better soon.

Did you use the passenger foot peg support as a hand hold (like Seeker mentioned on Trophys? My old Sprint had the same upside down "peg" handle) ? I grab the peg support with my right hand, the handle bar with my left and STAND on the center stand foot lever and she comes right up.
It was certainly easier to hoist the Sprint up than the Tiger, I guess its a leverage thing, the Tiger being much taller and I think a little heavier than the Sprint.

Here are a couple pics of the retractable handle I mentioned that all Trophys come with. You can see the handle on the top and my passenger footpeg folded down on the bottom:

Not really...it's just right. Remember the Trophy is a tall bike and those passenger pegs are higher than on a standard or cruiser style bike. You actually push down on the centre stand moreso than pull up on the handle...with your left hand on the handlebar.

I do when I travel to North Carolina and on other extended road trips. North Carolina is 630 miles/1014 kilometers.

I can totally understand that Carl, but we do tend to do most of our maintenance work at home in the garage, and there we shouldn't have to struggle.
I guess the point I'm trying to make is, if its not to much of a hassle or pain to do a job,we're more inclined to do it.

Okay. Now I'm trying to decide between a center stand and a lift/jack. Right now, I'm just riding around town. I'm not sure I can manage getting my bike on the center stand to be honest. I think I'm leaning towards a lift or jack. It appears to be in the same ballpark for price. Plus, my friend who just bought a bike could share it with me. The only thing I plan on doing to my bike is basic maintenance at this point.

Thoughts?

Love your work Harry! A nice piece of Kiwi ingenuity at the right price TUPTUP

The T160 has an automatic oiler which is adjustable. It runs off the engine oil return to the oil tank and is adjusted by a metering screw inside the tank. Marvelous!

I agree with getting a lift, and as Carl said, grab a tie down to keep it secure on the stand.
They are also great when cleaning and detailing your bike as it saves a bit of backstrain.
I've not used a centre stand for decades.
I can still remember dropping my Norton on a crowded city street as a young fella cos I was to busy checking out the girlies and not concentrating on what I was doing.
Since that embarrassing moment I have been a great believer in side stands.:y6:
