Dear Gentlemen
I want to buy a used 2010 Triumph Bonneville t100 but it has terrible engine sound.
The Owner told me, its just a valves and after adjustment it will be normal but i am afraid, its more serious.
The bike is 29 000km but last service maintenance was at 1700km
Please see attached zip video and advice what can be the problem and how much will repair cost

Thank you very much
Any advice will be much appreciated!
Sincerely Stefan

Stefan, firstly a big welcome, you will find all the help you need here.
Sadly I could not open your link for some reason.
However even not hearing it I would be very dubious of any bike that had gone over 27,000 Kms without a service. If the bike is very cheap and you know someone capable of repairing it correctly, but personally I would walk away.

walk away !!!!!!! it probably is valve clearances but if its been that way for any length of time there is going to be some very bad wear and tear taken place , plus there is no way of telling if all that noise is just valve train or wether theres some cam chain rattle or even cam wear .
it sounds like that thing had its first service at 1700 and has seen nothing since , do your self a favour ......save your money !!!!!!

Stefan,
Having now heard it although the bike looks fine cosmetically,I agree totally with what Shane said.
Even if you know good mechanics who could do the work,we are in May now and you said you don't want to spend the summer repairing the bike!
I see you are in Slovakia,Norman Hyde in UK would probably post parts to you but I still stand by what Shane and I said, walk away my friend, when that engine is opened who knows what damage is lying there.

Hi Gents
Thank you very much for your support and advices.
Latest agreement is that current owner will send bike to the service for big maintenance, he will send me service protocol and just then can we talk about about purchase. But as you mentioned as bike was with no maintenance for 27 000 km, who know what all can be damaged and what can go wrong in the future
Thanks
BR Stefan
