I took a ride on the 2005 Bonneville last evening. Pretty uneventful until I noticed that the tach was hanging around the 1k rpm mark. The problem is, I was doing about 70 mph at the time. Long story short, the tach will not move from that spot with the engine running. It goes back to 0 with the engine off but that's about it.
I pulled the headlight today to check the connectors, all good. I then pulled the tach to check the wiring going into the tach and the screw terminals on the back of the tach, all good. I'm guessing the tach is shot (around 7 months old +/-).
I guess my question is: has anyone with a factory Triumph tach, either accessory or stock (same thing), had a problem with their instrument becoming non-functional? I'm going to dig up my receipt and give the dealer a call next week to see if it is still under warranty. I put the original dash back on, with the speedo only, for now until I get this sorted.

Sorry to hear about the malfunction. I have heard of this happening before; but I do not remember the cause. There is another way to wire the tach; but I do not remember the details.
