I have no idea what the answer might be (if there is one), but as a personal opinion I think it would depend on the tire brand and the compound used, so any definitive info would probably be impossible to say across the board that would apply to all tires.

I just read a lot about the WCTwins on the net and a lot of forums, plus 50 years of experience in general. Some guys are indeed reporting accelerated wear with the 18"bias ply on the front, but no way of knowing if it is due to the bias ply or other factors.
