Bad Weather

The tropical storm that lashed Florida and now the US east coast, will here tonight and all day tomorrow with high gusting winds and very heavy rain. The saving grace is that it's not snow! I'm positioned where I can't be flooded but could easily lose power.
It's bringing some very mild temps for this area and for this time in December. It's 12C (53F) and expected to be quite mild most of the week, so if we lose power at least we won't freeze.
We get a lot of tropical storms with wind and heavy rain but rarely this time of year. Usually, it's a heavy snowstorm if the conditions are right.
I hope Carl and all our US southern/eastern friends here on TT made/make it through OK.

Know the feeling Rocky. We're getting hit pretty good up this way as well. Saturated ground and high winds(70-80 kph), means lots of downed trees, branches and power lines. Lost power last week with the last bout of heavy rain for 28 hrs. 15 Celsius here now.
Was up in the Northern part of NB yesterday. No snow up there. Going to be a green Christmas here this year.

Here on the coast, it was a pretty wild night, but I didn't lose power like many others did in various parts of the province.
It was raining when I got up this morning, and will all day, but the wind had moved away. We get a lot of rain anyway, so it's a normal day again.
We're so thankful it wasn't a snowstorm and will be around 8C (46F) most of the week.

We like a white Christmas too, but just enough to be pretty The past few years have been green, and it looks like that again this year - but things can change quickly.
