-23 c is - 9.4 f . That’s way down there for Prince Edward Island . Q would probably be ok with it . Gene is still champ but sympathy vote goes to the Orange Dragon . Scotland is the birthplace of curling isn’t it .
Hasn't gotten any better here in Mn I'm still the champ On your computer type in ( Farmington, Minnesota present Weather/Temperatures) You will then ask yourself Why do you live there ?????? Gene in Mn

Seems we are all in the icy grasp of ol' Man Winter right now. It' been cold here this past week. The cold Arctic air is pushing hard South and even our neighbours in the deep Southern US are getting a taste of some cold.
The Prairie provinces and US Prairies are accustomed to bitter cold Arctic air and I probably would NOT enjoy the climate out there.
Am no stranger to the cold having grown up in Labrador and not missing it.

I have this thermometer outside my kitchen window. I took this picture a few days ago. Fortunately it's warmed up since.

Is that C° or F°?

-37C that day. But yes, -40 is the same either way. JSYK - Fahrenheit on the left, Centigrade on the right. :y35:

We have had years where it's been so low for the temperature to not even show on the scale. Factoring wind chill it was -56C that day.

Also, we do have a modern weather station that gives us a ton of information, trends, windspeed and so on and we have an lcd display panel in the house but it fails below about -25C when the batteries in the outside sensor give up.

There are quite a few countries having a wild winter this year, for us the last time we had one this bad was 2009 -10 winter which was very bad it snowed and blizzards for three months and temps of -25c .
Not as much snow this time but the low temps and blizzards have played havoc with the roads , all the snow has been blown out of the fields and filled the roads ..... as soon as the plough is through the road fills in behind them .:ice2:

I had no idea you sometimes got that much snow . Here on Prince Edward Island we had a mild one with little snow . When the artic vortex moved south we had a nice little storm and a week of - 10 c , quite refreshing . Predicting just a bit below zero near future. The Hillsboro River finally froze , still some open water .

I wish someone would send us some wet weather ! Rain, snow, hail, anything. Got less than 4" of precipitation in 2020. This year so far is not any different. ...J.D.

Wish i could send you some of our wet, we have had our share, now the weather has really turned super cold for us it will be 7F tonight. Our records for the past 3 days have been broken and it will be tonight too. I'm not use to this, where are those sunny days?

Well i am back after the freeze we had, everybody lost power, water and patients. We broke records that were 25 years old, down in the lower 20F, and we don't have snow just 2" thick ice, can't even walk on the stuff! Glad its over, it was 82F today.
Same here !..... snow and ice gone calm and sunny with a fresh 3c in the morning then warming up to 9c or 10c in the afternoon , snow drops through , daff's on the way and birds singing there little butts off BGRIN

Oh sure everything’s roses now while here on Prince Edward Island we’re getting colder . Daytime highs around freezing for the next week or so although tomorrow will be + 5 C , about a foot of snow everywhere . And by the way Shane just read a report on the weakening Gulf Stream . Not good news and happening way quicker than I would have thought , I’m thinking maybe Morocco would be a good investment??
