WD-40 and duct tape- science's gift to the masses! Of all the uses I know this is one of the most "interesting": A mechanic at NAS Meridian said duct tape is used to make temporary repairs on the Goshawks at the Navy base here. I know that must be a comfort to instructors and pilots! But on second thought, I remember using duct tape on my '78 Bonneville- go figure.

WD-40 and duct tape was a gift to the non-engineers who like to repair. I talked recently to a jet mechanic at NAS Meridian who said they use duct tape to repair the Goshawks. Know that must be comforting to the flight instructors and students. I remember using duct tape on my '78 Bonneville; sort of like the addage from the 50's: all you need to keep a ford running is pliers and bailing wire.

A year or two back we had a thread about a plane that was damaged by bears, after a sheet plastic and duct tape repair they flew it back home. If that photo can be found I'm sure it will go well in this thread.

Great flow chart BTW.
