Cheers for that 'devo' Nice to learn one new thing per day. I did not know the injected T100's had those extra litres. I rarely make it over 200 Klicks before switching then maybe 60/70 more K. cheers

I dont know about the bonnies having bigger tanks, but the later speedmasters such as sketchy's certainly do.

I know the tanks on the fuel injected Bonnies are larger; but I don't know if they have increased capacity. The tanks were redesigned to accommodate the fuel pump.

HI Devo,

I have done this mod to my EFI Bonnie and you have to reprogram the ECU or you will have a warning light on the dash.

I would suggest you do what I did which is purchase a new ECU tune from Triumph Twinpower http://www.triumphtwinpower.com/ to suit your modifications on your bike which will give your bike a new lease on life and no warning lights. I have tune 3 for Bonneville which suits, DNA or K&N air filter, removed AI and Oxygen sensors and free flow mufflers long, and the bike goes great!

Greg

tune ECU itself is free but you need to purchase a proper cable, many tunes are free but TTP excellent tunes by Pieman are selected depending on your mods and can be downloaded from them and then installed by you, if you learn how, or you can sent your ECU and they will load the tune both at a fair price. many TRat members are very satisfied with his tunes

hey Greg and Bernard
cheers for the info,It doesnt effect my carbed bike but its great info for the efi owners.

Hey Carl I love the modifications and improving the looks and performance the shipping of goods to Australia from the USA is a higher cost sometimes than the goodies ha ha however between the USA and UK you have some great suppliers of performance products for Triumph Bonnevilles! Plan to increase the cubes, cams and heads in the future for fun just have to wait for the warranty period to finish ha ha!

Thanks for the message and great site!

Regards,

Greg

Re: Air eliminator kit and How to re 790 and 860 twins.

Hi, I used a proper sized threaded rod inside the hose near the airbox and secured it with a hose clamp. I have since installed the AI removal kit including removing that same hose from the airbox. I left all the electronics installed. No engine lights. That got rid of the popping and detonation during deceleration but fuel injection at idle still a problem. I will remap the fuel injection values from 13.02% to 14.50% throughout the powerband making it richer and that "should" clear up the stalling issue at low rpms. I hope.

No problem. I have never had to "fix" a brand new bike in my life - :y12:

I'm just waiting for the OBD2 cable to arrive. I already have the TuneECU software.

In a couple of weeks I will post something including details if successful.

Hi Zodiac I have remapped my Bonneville so if you need any advice or help just let me know you will love the way she will run after the remapping no more popping and flat stops can highly recommend triumph twin power maps and the cable.

Re: Air eliminator kit and How to re 790 and 860 twins.

Harry, Having read heaps of stuff re removal of air injection on this and other forums I decided to try it out as a temporary measure. My 2008 America EFI pops back a lot and the throttle is jerky at low revs causing me to slip the clutch more than I like for a smooth ride. Anyway without even removing the tank I could slip the rubber pipe off, block one end and put it back on. I also put a blocked up pipe on the airbox (or is it the solenoid,) anyway, where the pipe came off. Did this both sides and went for a run. So far it seems like a different bike, much smoother and no backfiring at all. Your picture tells it all. Is that silver thing the airbox or solenoid. Anyway they are the 2 holes I also blocked. Readers, let me know if I have done the right thing as the bike is so much better to ride. Also I need some info about tuning and maps. I do have a diagnostic scanner for my car which I tried on the bike and it worked but only to tell me RPM and all that other info. Had no fault codes and don't expect to get them as I guess the solenoid is still doing its thing but doing nothing if you know what I mean.

i blocked my air inlet, removed breather hose from gutted air box, got a dealer tune for the preds, my 2012 bonnie runs great but still have snatchy throttle, got the correct tune cable but have yet to figure how to download software, long winter is here lots of time to learn. i will remove the oxygen sensors soon as my 24 months will be up in sept 2014, with tune ecu the sensors can be disabled with no codes and many have reported a proper Tune ECU from TTP removes the snatchy throttle caused by the sudden transition from closed to open loop, the bonnie is a great easy to ride bike, heres a pic with several upgrades for personal preferences, love the clean running scootworks.com belt drive, what all street orentated triumphs should have IMO
