I can't tell you how much louder the horn is just that:
1 - it is louder, and
2 - it doesn't sound like a motorcycle horn but like a car horn. I think even a loud motorcycle "beep" would be ignored.
Those two factors, together, make it much more noticeable, and, yes, I am happy with it.

I know exactly what you mean about the factory “beep-beep” being totally useless. I had the same issue on my bike—no way cars would notice it.


I ended up going with something called bosshorn, which is loud enough that drivers can’t ignore it. It doesn’t need a permanent mount or complicated setup either, so I just hook it up when I’m riding in heavy traffic or on the highway.
 
You need the Denali Sound Bomb. 120 Db. One of my lads has fitted one and it is loud. But not as loud as the twin air horns I have managed to squeeze into the nose of the Ducati’s fairing.
