I have not posted here for a long time, my last post was November last year!
It has been a very hectic few months but hopefully things are back on track now.
Last November I went to see a specialist as I was having trouble swallowing, feeling like I had a lump in the left side of my throat. To cut a long story short, I have had various MRI scans, ultrasounds and tests and the good news is it is not cancer!
But I am still having further tests and biopsies on my lymph nodes and thyroid gland. My lymphs are enlarged and what thyroid I have left (I had half removed in 2010) is covered in nodules. So it has been a bit of a worrying time.
But to remain positive I trained for a half marathon during the winter, and completed the Haweswater Half marathon on the 1st of March in a time of 1hr 49mins and 26secs.
As you can see from the picture the weather was a bit on the wintry side!
i ran to raise money for the local blood bikes group, and raised £550 for them. Here's a pic of me handing over the cash.
I also kept myself busy in the shed and completed my little GT250 project,
I am not the sort to let the grass grow under my feet, so to fund another machine I have now sold the GT250 and my Enfield and treated myself to this little beauty!
She is a 2014 ABS model and only had 490 miles on the clock when I bought her last week.
The guy who owned her before me had heated grips fitted, hand guards, taller screen and the top box, then took the bike back to the dealer because it was too big for him.
I will hopefully be posting a bit more from now on. I have more tests on the 19th May, but have everything crossed for a positive outcome!
