1980’s you could still drive in and enjoy the park. Now reservations are required with shuttle buses from town.
Reservations are required for certain trails.
It’s become too popular.
Wow. Yeah, we just turned off to a smaller road and transcended down to this incredible green space. We toured several parks including Yellowstone on our way back to Texas. We were driving my 1968 Volvo P1800S. I miss that old car.

Very scenic. Love to visit it one day.
My wife and I are planning a trip to Sedona, Arizona in late April.
We plan on seeing a few things like Monument Valley, maybe Grand Canyon, etc.

Yup, I have a ‘Vintage Tour, Anyone?’ thread going up around Four Corners and perhaps dart into Monument Valley, and am hoping to attract some other riders—regardless of machine—for company and safety in numbers. You can camp out for free off lots of federal roads if you follow certain common sense fire safety guidelines. If it’s not yet blazingly hot, and you’ve got a little group to cook supper on your Coleman stove, it’s a really nice way to go.

That plan, of course, may be ruined by the Pres firing forest service personnel and gutting the national parks’ budgets. We’ll see…
