Well now they are not sure as the noise has gone away. Lucky when the dealer took it for a test ride with me it made another two big banging noises but nothing since then. However how I explained it all to then it indicated the gearbox. The thing is I don't ever ride my car hard if I take it halfway to the red line it is a lot. So the car is still at the dealer with no idea now what the problem is :silent:

Hi Dave, just read the thread on your vehicle saga - doesn't sound good. Agents are not known for their help or wisdom anymore - can't believe they told you to keep driving, but not go out of town?! What if you lived at Jeffreys - or even a smallholding at Seaview or something?
Good luck - and hope to see you when we in PE soon
Gavin

Well it is a bit of a problem I must say now that they tell me I should not go out of town. I do a lot of travelling so now I am stuck. I am supposed to go away for a few days as we are on leave so now we may have to cancel

I think it's a really dumb suggestion - what's the difference if your gearbox drops out/seizes/whatever whether you're out of town or going home from the dumb dealer down the freeway at 120km per hour? they are really passing the buck/deflecting/avoiding - hoping you and your problem will go away. maybe suggest a vehicle swop with the manager or workshop foreman till something happens!

Oh well I though of taking the bike but I need to bring a PC back with me. So now I will have to take my smaller car no comforts that my main car has but it only has 17K on the clock so it will be ok. I suppose it also need a run on the open road as up until now it is used mostly for town riding. The problem comes in when I am back at work I need to use my main car for business as I have it registered as my business vehicle with the company. Well I will leave it until next week until I start riding the car again and go and see the dealer that I bought it from plus my previous 5 cars and speak to them about this situation.

What go to me is when this dealer told me that if I do use it and it break down out of town towing charges are quite expensive. I told them well if it need to be towed I will not be paying for it as they know about the problem. I know that it is hard to find a fault that is not presenting itself at the time but I too have a job to do and need the car for this.

Well basically they have had the car on and off for two weeks now riding it when they have the time and nothing has happened. I experienced the same problem again last Sunday when I had the car back for the weekend but one again this week nothing. So as I am back at work from Monday it now looks like I will have to trade this one in for a new model :cash: :silent:
