The Pilot screws are fuel screws on the CVK's. Screw in for less fuel (weak) and out for more fuel (rich). From memory a starting position is 2.5 turns from fully in. Stokey Tony is correct that they can get stuck and corroded so soaking in a release agent at very least is a good idea. be carefull if you remove them there is a spring, a washer and an o-ring. the o-ring is often stuck in position and needs fishing out with a small soft metal hook, if it is really tight take great care they are brass and easily break. 3 screw out is about full adjustment and after that a larger pilot jet is needed.

Try Sprint Manufacturing in England for quality aftermarket Triumph parts. I would caution against pod filters, they make finding correct carburation more difficult. chuck away the inlet silencer snorkel and fit a K&N performance filter in the airbox. There's plenty of threads on here about airbox mods. Always keep your battery in good order as a low energy battery can cause premature starter (sprag) clutch failure. Brakes and suspension serviced and set-up are very good for general use and touring but get stressed with "spirited" riding.

Good luck and have fun
