Hi all, I recently had the 10k service done by Triumph here in Australia on my MY21 850SP & they advised me of 3 software updates they installed. By the way these updates took 1hr 15 mins to install which is time I didn't allow for when dropping the bike off.
Anyway the tech tells me that the 3 updates are for ECU, dash display and chassis(?) I have since now done over 1000 km's and have noticed only 2 differences, 1 is that the TSA is much much smoother, not as smooth as my BMW was but way better than my KTM. Secondly I have noticed a decrease in fuel consumption which is giving me a fuel range approaching 470 km's of highway running, previously 450 km's was the most I could attain though generally I would refill before hitting 430 km's which gave me a buffer.
So could I assume that the ECU update relates to economy & the chassis update was for the TSA ??? I cannot see any difference in the dash display so maybe that was just a bug fix

I think its good that your dealer is on the ball and getting these updates done without you having to chase for them ( even if you didn't know about them ) , but nice to have a bit more fuel range smoothness TUP

That’s great mileage Daggy . How do you come up with that number ? Does yours always show 380 km range after a fill like mine does ? Is that on regular grade or E 10 , what’s TSA ?
Sorry for all these questions

yep mine always shows 380 kms fuel range after filling but it hangs on 380 for a long time. I only use standard 91ULP fuel here in Australia. TSA is Triumph Shift Assist, the quickshifter. I guess with our roads being long & open it is easier to attain good fuel milage. If i'm doing shorter rides like I did this past weekend then I am getting around 400 - 410 kms from a tank full. On longer trips out west where it's flatter & the roads tend to be straighter then 470 kms is achievable

Well , after yesterday’s little ride I must agree . I filled up to the brim and rode 60 km before the 380 range # moved downward so that’s 440 . Wonder if this is just an 850s thing . Would be nice if some 900 guys added comments .
I run 87 octane but we’ll be on the 87E soon , we’re already paying the increased E price (188 Cdn / litre ). That’s 5.36 U$A . Is your 91 pure ?
Spain just beat England 1 to 0 in the final . Regrets to our Brit buddies but those Bultaco gals are good .
