Yamaha , Suzuki and especially Kawasaki used rotary disc valves in small to mid displacement engines.Almost any 70/80s disc valves two stroke. Yammies in particular

I had a snomobile customer who called to inform me that his carburetor had exploded , something I had never heard of before or since . When we lifted the cab there it was , pieces of Mikuni all over the place except the spigot which was still held in it’s rubber collar and clamp . Turned out he had used the emergency starter pull cord , another thing I never heard of before or since , when the regular cord failed . He obviously had thrown the light duty E cord under the hood and continued his ride until the carburetor ingested the cord , it got wrapped around the crank shaft and when the wood handle hit the carb the explosion occurred .
