Scrambler 1200XE - Brush Guards

The OEM guards look good but the metal is a low grade alloy of some sort that really doesn't take any abuse. Many riders have swapped them out for Barkbusters.

Recently I dropped my 1200XE on a steepish rocky climb up to the Cardinal Divide in Alberta.

So I decided to get a set of Barkbusters with the Storm guards. Not a cheap option but far better quality than the OEM guards and simple to fit. I just had to re-route the cables on the clutch side and I'd recommend fitting the guards to the spine while off the bike as it's easier to reach the screws without a clutch/brake lever in the way.

I think they look good.

Interesting. Maybe that would have worked for me, I was just being cautious as the cables seemed taught..
