I am a new member who has recently joined your forum . About me. I have lived in North Yorkshire (UK) all my life . I started riding bikes as a 14 year old in 1976 . Initially a C50 step through and then a trials converted Excelsior 150 . I passed my motorcycle test in 1980 and have been pretty much riding bikes ever since. For the last 25 years it has almost exclusively been track days and Sports Bikes, but to be honest I don't think I can think quite quick enough anymore . When I was at college then all I could afford was a 76 t140v . I loved that bike and hence the recent purchase .A 72 T120v. In last month I have stripped her repainted, rewired and brought the electrics up to date with a voltage regulator LED lighting etc . I am aiming for a reliable ride and have done all of the work myself apart from the tank respray (it had a nasty crease which was beyond my limited skills) A Picture of my progress is beneath. As you can see the tank is not the 72 year colour but was available as an option. It is polychromatic blue . Personally I have never liked the airbox set up so I fitted a pair of 69 style fibreglass panels and pancakes ( Funnily enough the first thing I did to my first T140V was to make my own blanking plates and fit bell mouths) Each to their own though!
I am now waiting for a set of Alloys ordered from Central Wheel components . Once fitted then I hope to do a few miles before winter.
For those looking for spare parts then I have bought most parts from either Les Williams . TriCor or Cheshire Classic Bikes. All have been really helpful and often decisions have been based purely upon availability .
I am no expert but am always willing to pass on anything that I have learnt.

Welcome to TT from Eastern Canada as well. Sharp looking ride. Hope you get your new wheels soon so you can enjoy.
Thank you Q ship. The wheels should arrive tomorrow, so I plan to crack on and install the bearings and fit them tomorrow evening .Assuming I have a spark (after the rewire) I will then try to get the carbs set up and then fingers crossed will be out on Saturday for a test spin up in the Dales. Got a feeling owning a 50 year old bike is going to be like maintaining the Forth Road Bridge,so I am sure that there will be more stuff to do over the winter. Take it easy and from what I have seen on U tube watch out for bears!
