Saddlebag Bracket Removal

I am looking at cutting my fender. I want to trim it down a good amount and possibly remove the saddlebag bracket. Has anyone done this? Is it integral to keep?

There’s bobbed rear fenders for the America and Speedmaster models.

I have found the ones at bobbercycle. Anyone have any experience with them?
