Ok so low mount exhaust sorted air box mod done, next is the high flow air cleaner but I’ve now completed 10k on my XE and about 70% of my ridding is dirt/adventure and it is brilliant on the dirt and as far as black top is concerned I’m enjoying this bike more than my previous Thruxton R even on the bitumen.
Ridding on the road with these two bikes I’m left with wanting more power and I am not even interested in looking at other bikes as the XE seems the ultimate in my eyes only lacking in a little more power so due to there low power output ( Thruxton R and XE) compared to many other 1200’s most are around 130hp, so it seems we need a big bore kit and a compression increase

There is a cam you can get.. Would have to dig up where I found it.. My understanding is you get an addition 500 rpm out of it and more top-end.. Supposedly the cam that the bike was designed for before hamstringing it for emissions..

hhmm... As I search.. maybe that was for the 900..

What tires you running?

So did you go with the big bore or a cam?
Hi Sikatri,
well none at this stage as I have not found any information on big bore works that any one has posted yet, I am still on the hunt for more power similar to the GS and other 1200 full size adventure. So Indians FTR is at 120'ish HP the GS's are over that and Ducati and KTM's are well above this so I'm thinking 130'sh HP and I have not seen anyone post around these figures yet but its only time I'd say and are you willing to be the first? well that's where I am at, still gathering the means so as to achieve and big bore work is yet to be found that's published anything.

I’d think a good hotter cam might be the simplest way to go. It’s also simpler to deal with the head and do any polishing porting and such. That’ll lead to tweaks on your computer mapping likely.

That is a great way to go the only "fly in the ointment" so to speak is the compression ration I would like to address, I am thinking to go 12-12.5 :1 up from 11:1 currently so I am not sure as to weather planing heads or removing pots to install higher comp pistons and if it has been done yet and what clearances we have ??? as to weather planning heads is even a possibility??? ther's just to many unknowns for my liking at this point.
