Hello, EZ
I would think that the bolts would be reusable, although I did use new ones obtained from the Triumph dealer in ABQ.

What bike do you have?

I found a big improvement with the new cam and a decat. Kept the stock "Peashooters" yielding a very nice sound....
Can you send me a picture of the tools you made? I want to tackle the swap this weekend.
Thanks

I’m out of town till Sunday. Would be happy to send photos then. I would also be happy to loan the tools to you. Could ship them to you via fedex if you’d pay the shipping. Either way I’ll be happy to help!

Hello, I was reading up on your thread about the tec cam. Funny enough I'm also in CO (denver) I was wondering if you bought replacement bolts for the cam chain sproket. Not sure if reusing them are a big deal or not.
As a retired Ford Senior/Master mechanic/technician (also worked at a motorcycle dealer years ago)....Never ever and I mean ""NEVER EVER"" reuse a torque to yield bolt unless you really want to spend some $$$$. Have seen it come back and bite more techs and customers than I care to remember. Was a shop foreman for many of those years so ended up in the middle of the aftermath of the destruction. If a required torque to yield bolt was not charged on a warranty claim Ford would deny the claim. If a bolt was not available at that moment have seen some techs charge out the new bolts, reassemble with the old and throw the new bolts either in a drawer or the garbage.

Hello Gear 1, just an update, i got the cam in and all is well, still keeping it under 4k RPM for the 1st 300miles but no issues thus far. i did have to re shim the #2 intake valve as it had almost no clearance at all. the Haynes shop manuel did help. i recommen that be used along side the install video from TBP. Thanks.

Yep i ended up getting the bolts at the dealer. The debate comes from the info on the haynes manuel and the TEC install video. Haynes says its ok to re apply thread locker and reuse the bolts. i also replaced the O-rings.

If the bolts are not stretched on installation (example 40 lb torque plus 90 degree turn, plus 90 degree again) but only have thread-lock on them I have often cleaned them then applied new lok-tite and reused. Still if manufacturer wants them replaced for warranty I'd probably replace them anyway. Bolts that are stretched always get replaced.
