Re: 1978 T140 cam shaft gear installation
I have completely tore down the engine. I have put the casing back together and I am at the point of installing the cam timing gears. I have found out that the installation gear tool D2213 will not work on a 1978 T140. I am left tapping the gears on with a hollow drift until I can get to the gear nut threads. Then proceed with the nuts to tighten down the gears. I haven’t done this yet. There is so much movement within the cam shaft, I am afraid I will damage the cam lobes. Apparently the 78 year wasn’t the best model.
Any videos or suggestions on the proper way to install the gears on the camshaft without damaging the cam itself.
Thank you
