Fog Lights Not On

Tiger 900 .... 2021.

The fog lamps will not come on with the cruising lamp.
I would rather have as much conspicuity as possible, so how can I rewire the fogs to make them come on? (I did ask the dealer, but they refused.)

Also, Triumph do not do any extra real lights. I was recommended some Denali, but it is not at all clear how to wire these into the bike‘s electrical system. Any ideas?

All new Triumphs have a CANBUS electrical system so tapping into it will show an unauthorized draw on the system and throw a code. Probably why Triumph dealer didn't want to do it as would require remapping(if possible) and maybe void the warranty.
The Denalis can be wired into bike using their own wiring direct from battery with a fuse, relay and switch that comes with their wiring harness.

I was wondering if the lights cold be wired into the seat heater circuit?? There are blank plugs there, for the seat heaters - so would this circuits know it was powering lights instead of seats?

I would still have to find out how to wire those plugs, as I cannot see how you can get a wire into the female side of the plug.

The seat heaters have a set amp draw that is probably different than whichever lights you decide to go with. They will be part of the CANBUS system as well and the computer will know how much current draw should be goin there. Any more, any less and error codes.
Only way to wire the stock lights to come on when YOU want is to wire them direct to battery with a fuse, relay and switch independent of the CANBUS system. Use good quality connectors, solder and heat shrink and should not be an issue.

But there is an external power socket, which is linked to the ignition switch. So I can wire the lights into that power socket.

Whatever happened to a wire with 12v in it?

They all still have 12v running thru them it's the amperage that's monitored by the system for proper operation.

That may be the way to go with what you want to do as the power sockets are designed to charge anything with a 12 system and different current draws, such as heated riding gear, charging GPS and cell phones. It will have a maximum allowed amp draw and as long as your lights don't exceed that it shouldn't throw a code.
I still would not recommend doing this as your bike is brand new and still under warranty. Wiring them independent of the bikes electrical system should be safer and not cause any issues.

But if I use an external socket plug, I will not be hijacking the bike’s electrical system. Just adding ‘extras’ like heated riding gear - oh, and a load of cruising side-lights.

At least this way they are wired into the ignition, so I am not going to walk off and flatten the battery.

If you just want to plug them in whenever you want to use the lights then should not be an issue I would think.
Be careful on how many other lights you add to not exceed the current draw allowed on the plug. LEDs would be the best choice if you have not thought of that yet. Of course almost every aftermarket light out there today is LED.
