identify the wire

I was checking out my bike on the rear brake side and noticed a wire going into what looks like a spark plug to the left of the engine oil window.
The wire looked like it has deteriorated and missing a rubber cover?
Anyone else have this issue and can tell me what this wire is for?

I think you are referring to the brake pressure switch and I don't think it has a rubber boot on the Street Twin.

Thanks for your quick replies...here is a picture, its right behind the rear brake level (the silver bar in the picture)
It looks like heat has melted off the rubber? The black wire sleeve is pulled back and you can see a single wire exposed.

I have confirmed it is not the brake pressure switch...the mystery continues
