Hello! I must be incredibly dense... Looked in the manual could not find the oil filter number or brand, anyone of you helpful folks help me out Thank you in advance. Michele
No you're not dense, I've been looking for about 15 mins now for anything that would give me answer to your question, sadly I can't find a thing.
However if you bookmark the following, I know it's a UK webpage but it might give you the information that you want when they next update the page.
Most modern Triumphs use the same filter which Triumph lists at T1218001. I looked that part up and it lists all or nearly all the current models. . . but no actual Street Twin on the list of bikes. The list was for 2015 so if it is the same for the Street Twin, the list just hasn't been updated with 2016 models.
Once you have found for sure that this filter is still the one for the Street Twin you can use this list for non-Triumph filters. Motorcycle Oil Filter Cross Reference
Here are the part numbers I have found I use the NAPA platinum since it is designed for Synthetic Oil but I'm not an engineer so it might just be marketing hype.
I'll keep looking too; I so hate having to rely on the dealers for everything for my ST - I think they make more profit on accessories and labor than on the sale of the bikes!
Thanks again!
Great! Note that this filter on Amazon ships from and is sold by Hermy's in Port Clinton, PA. Part number T1218001 fits 2016 AND 2017 - finally, mystery solved, thanks to you!
