I just thought I'd better clear up one thing I said about the box in your frame ! Mine was small box under the seat as yours is , but mine didn't have the square section that comes up from the foot rest erea ! Allso there are quite a few differences in the fuel tank between the 995 and the 885 but I still think they fit each other .

So far the cardboard fairing is looking pretty good. TUP It should really look good when the aluminum gets shaped. If the bags were bought with the bike then the same key would work for tank and bags. The construction of the Triumph lock set will not allow for re-keying but you should be able to get a new key made to fit the lock or go thru Triumph to get a correct key or a new lock set to replace all the keys and locks, ignition too.

Great picture! It helps me with a few more things. I have only the right stock saddle bag...and NO exhaust. I have just the header pipe that goes down into a collector, so I must fabricate something to work and go up the rear and out like you have it. Looks like you are lucky and have the centerstand!!! I do not :(

It is very interesting that I have a box section that is the rear subframe. Maybe it is because it is such a low number? Frame 700EH might have something to do with it! I made some of the nose fairing last night, but until it is added with other pieces, it will not look nice until then! :)

I don't have her any more but this was my Girlie

Great shots! I can't wait to get on my girlie bike :)

Shanered6: Got it! I assumed you meant under the seat, but it appears there are little differences all over the place! As for the fuel tank, what's the most notable changes? I couldn't see much in the schematics I was able to find, the only problem I encountered was that they listed each color as a different part number. That made it impossible to verify things across the board. Like recently I was able to pick up the side covers from a 955i from 2005! They fit perfectly, although they are in the "green goddess" color scheme ^^ haha. I read a lot about the upper fuel crossovers being damaged/rotted out even though they are metal. I might have another hour to beat on some metal tonight so hopefully I can get more done on the "fairing" o_O I suppose a little bondo will make it look nice. :D The drivers seat came in yesterday too!!

As for keys, I'll talk to the guy I bought it from. He works at a Triumph Dealership currently as a mechanic, so he might be my best bet on getting new keys made!

The main difference with the tank is that the tank on the 955 is hollow just in front of the seat were you can see the carbs were the black panel screws on to hide it , on the 885 it's not hollow and you can't see the carbs it's all fuel tank .

Interesting. So looking at my pictures...you can see the throttle bodies where the black gas tank side cover is missing...is that what you are talking about?

MAD: I think you are mistaken, that's how many MILES it has on it! (y) I've got about $900 USD into it right now, that includes buying the bike, the missing seat, metal fuel connections, front brake calipers, left footpeg and bracket and an ECU So I'm hoping I'm not doing too bad $$ into it? Still missing rear brake line/brake (but have the brake holder)

Haha, no problem MAD! So you think I have a 955i fuel tank as well then....hmm....is the engine size stamped on the motor anywhere? The VIN says it's a 1999 Triumph Tiger, it doesn't tell me anything about it being an 885i or 955i, I figured that out because it was a 1999, they only made the 885i that year correct?

Correct, the Tiger was an 885 for years 1999 to 2000 and 955 from 2001 to 2005 . . . or at least that is what my manual says.

Not trying to rush you but there is going to be a few of us meeting in Alabama for T.R.A.M.P. 2015 in May. :y2:

Our get together for the 1st annual Gathering of the Tigers, later rename to a more appropriate T.R.A.M.P. 2014 (Tiger Riders Are Mental Patients) was such fun we decided to make it an annual event. Well at least annual for 2 years, after all we are mental patients and who knows when the third get together will be.

Well then I guess I better get a move on...HOPEFULLY the fuel connectors come in tomorrow. If not, I should have a pretty good head start on the fairing. Learning TIG welding AND metalwork at the same time might be a little much..ha!

Thanks for the info on the years. I thought that was the case. Interesting about the tank then...since I haven't tried opening it yet...which made me just realize that getting fuel in there might be a bit trickier than I thought.... might have to use my aux. fuel pump and put it into the cross over tube for now :whistle2:

Yes that is an 885i engine the Side casings are totally different between the two engines , to get fuel in you could allways undo the Alen bolts holding the fuel cap on .

Great, then 885i it is! I wasn't sure if the allen bolts would allow me to open it up or not. I've had some that are still locked in with a couple more bolts under the flange so the only way to "get it out" is to pry on it and ruin it. I'll undo the allen heads and see what happens! Thanks for the help!
