Yep.....I switched around and shortened the turn signal stocks on my '78 T140.....my foot was always hitting the rear one when I got on or off the bike. I agree that also look better that way!

BTW: Around here, they would judge additional things as a demerit in a bike show. My T140 got a 3rd place while two bikes in worse condition got 1st and 2nd only because I have Mikuni carbs as opposed to the Amals. And when I say worse shape...they were VERY bad, but totally stock.

Your carbs probably work much better than the originals, but if I were judging I'd do the same as they did. For me a show bike has to be original before improved. Sure there is a cross over point where I'd give you first place over original rubbish.

AHH couldnt tell from the side. I just read somewhere (I am having a tough time navigating this site) under "whats the going price for a 79 special. Someone wrote they are the bike you DO NOT want... I can't see why or where they get that. looked at the pic of a side cover missing pinstripes, they are easy to fix, anyhow I bit my tongue, he recommended a Suxuki 650 ... I just got aggravated, was trying to show my pops some pics of your machine. AND I know what you mean, SOME shows are for originality, and a friend w/ a 76 bicentenial corvette lost points for having the wrong valve caps. They should have had a little nipple w/ a hole. RIDICULOUS! I was getting frustrated, I found ya but cant get to the pics..... any advice on site navigation? next time I want to save em, as Yours is my favorite on here (mine aside lol)... As I stated previously The bike is neg ground mag wheels, 2 into 1 (Id like to go w/ your exhaust) only changes are oil cooler and the shortened blinkers. Maybe its just ME? But another guy compared his to "pulling like a honda 750 4.. OK well Im 35 and we live in an area where bikes are preserved. I walk 750 4s all DAY! and I know its because there are none left that have the carbs right. maybe new? OK they could do it. But I will walk by a mint running Virago 920 and never touch the redline (when I do I lose the headlamp) ONLY complaint. But if you can direct me back to your photos I would appreciate that!

Tom, I am in the Greensboro NC area. Bob "Ozzie" Oswald (my PA friend who put the electric start system and the real belt drive on my bike) lives east of Lancaster PA (Parksburg PA). I would love to see pictures of your bike. The person who made that negative comment probably had one and did not take the time to keep it in good running condition. Most of those people would be the same regardless of the brand of bike they have. The first step to having a well running machine is that you have to understand it. This guy apparently does not.
