Hi all, have a '71 tr6r trophy oil in frame with electric start. Just want to replace the oil pump as I have just installed the 750 big bore kit.

Currently struggling to remove the timing cover and have searched the Web and manuals with no luck. I have removed all the bolts for the timing cover and the starter motor. Also removed the ignition timing rotor that has the taper and is kinda pressed on with the allen key bolt.

Can only pry one side, other side looks as if its still attached by the cogs for the starter motor. Also punched out a pin into the timing case that was holding a shaft the cogs were attached to.

Can upload pics if need be. Cheers

It beats me. I have no idea how it's assembled, and conversely, how it comes apart.
Normally, you should be able to tap around the edge with a soft hammer until the seal breaks loose.

Yea gave it a tap with a brass drift and hammer in all directions. There are also small tangs along the case for prying. Still no luck. Are there dowl pins pressed onto the timing cover crank case mabye?

I don't know for absolute certain, having never worked on this engine, but I know my T100S engine has a dowel pin.
It's probably a good bet that your engine has one or two as well.
