I’ve done that with a car. I guess why not with a motorcycle.

Have done with a few bikes but don't try with a Harley or Indian as force on belt may snap it.

I do it in third gear. In second gear the compression is too strong on my Bonneville T100.

My old KLR was really easy to do this to in 1st gear. I tried it on the Tiger once when I was stuck in a parking garage with a dead battery and the rear tire would just skid. Never thought to use a higher gear....
