Hey guys - it's been ages since I was last here. To be honest I lost interest for a while and also 2009 has been the busiest year we have ever had so haven't really had much time to chat on any forum. I have also tried on several occasions to pop in here but forgot my password and I think Dave or Carl saw my plight and took pity on me cause when I click on this website now I was straight in. :y115:

So how the hell are you all doing?

Hi Carl.
Doing great. Haven't really riden this year - frozen shoulder for the first 6 months. Took the bike for a spin about 2 months ago - serious dirt, dropped the bike, was supposed to take her to Fouriesberg last Friday but the damn thing broke down. She is in hospital at the moment but I have booked and paid to go to Outshoorn next month so one can only hope. Not much chance of being riding fit for a 1100km trip but what the heck.

Welcome back. I am sorry to hear about your shoulder; I can certainly relate to physical problems that keep one from riding. Now that I have my hack, I am doing a lot more riding. Try to ride as much as you can to get in shape for your trip.

I had heard about your shoulder; I trust it is all well now? As Mae Lyne said, do as much riding as you can to get in the groove and build up your endurance. Just be careful. What is wrong with your bike?

Thanks MaeLyn. Tis riding season again now - winters finally over. I must admit that I've gone off riding lately. I'll decide after Outshoorn whether to keep the bike or not. Found a MUCH nicer hobby that clashes horribly with biking weekends - we bought a Landy Defender fully kitted out with every conceivable camping jobby you can think off (including rooftop tent) and Africa is calling. There are so many places to go to and so few weekends in a year. What to do.........
