When did you first try countersteering?

No idea but I wish it was taught to me when I first rode a motorcycle. I think it's something I developed intuitively over time but didn't have an actual name for it until sometime in the last 10 years or so.
 
I think a more correct question would be when did you realise you were counter steering? Everyone counter steers from there very first (successful) ride, it’s just that you aren’t necessarily aware of it.

I agree. I started riding in the mid 1950's and didn't even know there was something called counter steering.
I just did it without realizing that it was a "thing."
