This video makes sense to me.

Ignore the title - it's comes across as pretentious.

The point of the video is to advise you to do what makes you happy, become a master of it, and maybe you'll make a living from it- as opposed to live chasing money but not necessarily being happy. It's a great philosophy in my opinion.

Overall, I have worked the kinds of jobs I love. There were time when I hated the Army; but overall, I liked it. It was a good life. I thoroughly enjoyed forestry work and land management.

Well....I always wanted to be a porn star, but as Rocky said....it wasn't practical!

I had a woman at the airport today that kept staring at me. She finally came over where we were standing and asked where she knew me from. I couldn't resist the urge so I answered the only way I could, "You must watch a lot of porn and saw me in the movies."

Yeah, me too but I was overly qualified for the job.

When I wasn't scaring the ladies :y5:
I honestly always looked forward to retirement. Work was an annoyance on the road to hedonism. Got there at 56 that was 6 years ago, I've now got the best job, it's all about me, me, me.

Retirement is the best job I've ever had!

GREAT BLOG! :y45: Love the "
An open letter to every person I meet who finds out I ride a motorcycle" Man that is so true.
I also would like to see one "an open letter for people pumping gas from Triumph owners" Please don't regale us with your "Triumph? I had a Triumph in 68" stories or "My uncle had a Triumph back in 72" story.......if I am getting gas its a quick fill up to get back to riding......not an invite to converse for an hour about YOUR past...... sorry grumpy this morning.......

Yep, interesting.
The problem isn't localised in any way, I'm on the other side of the world and can point out a number of roads close to home that sound similar and have the same problems. Being retired I can ride ours week days and avoid them weekends.

That's one of the great joys of being retired and a rider; I can ride anytime during the week and don't have to wait for weekends - although that's when our club rides are held because 75% of our members are still working.
Most of the time I'll be riding alone (which I like to do), but sometimes the old farts will get together for a ride in the country during the week.

That situation does exist all over. It has happened and is happening on the Tail of the Dragon. While they are not installing speed bumps, on the Tennessee side, the state reduced the speed limit and stationed extra state troopers to target motorcycles.

I used to hear the same when I had my Studebaker pick-up. If all the folks I heard say "back in the day when I had my Studebaker" or "my father always bought Studebaker" then Studebaker would still be in business.
