Well......................
I have good news ---NO HERNIA! (yep) Well you go to 3 doctors in 2 weeks and you get 3 totally different diagnosis........I now have .............."It is reactive Lymphadenopathy" WHAT!??!?!
Bad news......WTF? I mean come on......this doctor did far more including an ultra sound of the area, and says its swollen lymphnodes........and the cure "motrin or advil for pain, if it hurts--don't do it-- and take it easy, it could take a month to go away"........basically ---yer fine here is a lollipop go home. :(
And back to my original ....I HATE DOCTORS statement. harumpf!!!!!!!!!!!

If I had this situation in front of me I'd go to a 4th doctor and a 5th and 6th till such time as at least two doctors were coming up with the same diagnosis without telling them what the others said. Don't want to colour their thinking.
Just now you may like the third doctor but how do you know he's on the money.

Well taking your advise and setting an appointment with a G.P. who I have seen for many years. He is a bit further drive for me, but I do trust his knowledge He was our family doctor as my Son was growing up and always went that "extra Mile" I go to him every October too get my PSA/prostate/blood work done to be sure I am not at risk. This year I will just go a few weeks early. :) Maybe Doctor #4 will have some better news......or at least SOME news.

Don't want to push my opinion too hard but I really think it's important to be looked at by a doctor who doesn't know what others before him have said. Until you start getting similar opinions you have nothing but a lot of scatter gun marks in the target.

Thats why I haven't given this Doc any pre info. As far as he knows I am just coming in for my annual check up. then I will mention the current issues and see where it goes.
PLUS my thinking is 2 fold as lymph node swelling in the groin region can be a cancer indicator so I want to get him to check my PSA numbers to my past PSA numbers again with no other info prior

Exactly, but remember, don't panic about a bad outcome as only 1 of 3 doctors mentioned lymph node. He may be one of those getting it wrong.
BTW I googled "lymphadenopathy" sometimes a problem but usually no big deal. That's why I'd personally be relaxed but follow it to the end and not be worried about how many doctors it takes to have it nailed down.
Positive attitude and persistence will have it sorted in a couple of weeks. Then it's back onto your bike.

Agreed. And yes I have been reading a good bit my self, and could be just a passing thing . Could be a warning of others, EARLY warning at that, and can be a good thing again as it would help to "nip in the bud" a bigger issue. So yes, relax and see. Sometimes doing nothing is in itself, doing something. :)

Speaking of psa#'s mine went up 2 yrs ago, took first biopsy, found what mite be cancer as the gleason score was at 7, went to a specialist, had another biopsy knowing where to look, found nothing! But you just can't discount what the 1'st dr. found, so 2 weeks ago, about a year later, had another biopsy this time found cancer cells. Now i will have my prostate frozen [ killed] as i can't have it removed surgically without running the risk of having to have a urine bag the rest of my life. The reason for this is that i had Colan cancer 14 years ago, after my operation i had chemo and radiation witch , for lack of words causes the Colan, prostate and maybe other organs to become" glued" together. I will see my dr. this wed. to set up my next plan of attack, I'll let everybody know something after wed.

Very sorry to hear this but sounds you have caught it early enough. My Father was not so lucky. That is why I keep a very close eye. I am certain yours will go well. The options and outcomes are very good with early detection.
Both Grandfathers had good results with "seeding".

Just checked your profile, "66 years old". You only have about 2 years start on me. My doctor said at our age we all have this problem but normally it's so slow advancing we don't have much to worry about, normal old age stuff will knock us over first. All very easy for him to say, when it's you action is required. :y13:
Good luck with Wednesdays appointment.

My doctor says the same thing, every male will have this problem if he lives long enough, you may out live it but you feel extremely wore out and tired all the time. I have always tried to watch out for my health, it pays off , there are a lot of things that will do you in but if caught early can be stopped in its tracks.

I am certain it has not gone unnoticed that its been quieter and more mature round this here forum the last few weeks. I was working (over working TBTH) to get a large seasonal order out, and while working second shift last Tuesday evening a got a special gift for my overworking.......a hernia. Upper right Femoral Hernia to be exact.
I was on light duty......then got moved to NO duty after this mornings exam. I am now to see a surgeon tomorrow and then go from there.
As a very active sort who SELDOM sits still (and HATES to ask others for help) this is HELL!!!!!!
Shannon won't let me do anything......I offered to answer phones at work ....I was told to "keep yer broke down ol a** at home"........the muscle relaxers and pain meds force me to sleep most the time.......and it could be a week or 2 BEFORE I can get a surgery date........then a couple weeks recovery after that......::shit::....pardon my French.........and worst of all NO TIGER riding of any kind for at least a month.
AND -----I friggin HATE surgeons! Don't trust em.......don't care much for being anesthetised either crap fooey :baby:

Adrian, I am very sorry to hear this. I can empathize with the no riding! Follow the doc'sfers and get well soon.

Dang Keys, we might have to start calling this forum the TT Invalids. . . My back, Rocky's ankle and now your hernia.

As a word of warning, DO NOT disobey the surgical nurse, she will let every one in hearing distance know that you didn't follow her instructions to the letter. DAMHIKT. :y2:

You can add my vision to that list.

Thanks Carl,
I am feeling a bit more chipper today. Still swollen and sore. BUt "Better" doing "light duty" riding a desk at work, at least contributing.
Have an apt. with my Doc next Monday for the annual PSA and blood work. Perhaps some light will be shed on things then. :)

If you need surgery, let me know, I just found my old filet knife.

This forum is brilliant don't you think, 1st Carl received lots of offers to ride his bike for him when he encountered his current problem, and now Key's, you have a very generous offer to cut you open. Now I don't know about your health care system over there, but It might work out cheaper for you to get Dr Hemi to have a rummage around in there for you.
All joking aside, I hope that when you do go to the 4th Doctor you get a definitive answer to your questions, and that more importantly it all comes back OK
