Well, Had A MRI Today

If you’ve followed my mod on my Thruxton you probably might recall I had a fall and landed on my shoulder. Apparently I had an old partial tear and now a full tear of the rotator cuff. It’s likely they will recommend surgery. That’s going to take me off the riding for months. A bit bummed, but if my parts come in soon I should at least get the Thruxton back to road condition before any surgery.

Look at the bright side- More time to focus on the bike and less miles put on the bike.

I broke my foot riding early last year and that gave me pause to figure out which way I wanted to go mod-wise. I was able to ride again in a short few weeks but I put myself in "time out" and took 6 months off from riding as self-punishment. Thankfully the bike was barely scuffed(repairs were still almost a grand) but I saw it all as challenge to come out the other end even better than previously planned. "Lemonade from lemons" if you will.

Not great news but you will be better in the long run.
I've had shoulder surgery and worked very hard at the physio to gain back range of motion. That's the secret to getting back to normal.

A bit of a shame about your shoulder but if they can fix it I would say it is a good deal.

Around the 70's and 80's I had two offs and both broke my collarbone at the time. Those day they would just put your arm in a sling and send you on your way. Well today I am suffering because of that.

Never seen a cat guarding a bike very well. Growl ...

Still, my dog couldn't save the bike from my ineptitude. Bike is now just a headstock rusting in the garden

Have my initial therapy session setup for tomorrow and an appointment to see a specialist/surgeon on the 8th. Hopefully whatever needs to happen can and does as soon as possible.

Well got a call from the specialist’s office they wanted to see me today if possible. I agreed. Heading out soon. Going to be a busy day.

Eventually anyway. Today’s visit is the hook, only $40. After that they tell you what they recommend and then it gets expensive.
