The situation has worsened. Jim has embolism in both lungs. As of yesterday afternoon, the docs have not decided to go in to remove the clots. They told the family it does not look good. I have not heard anything this morning. As I told them yesterday, where there is life there is hope. At this point it will take a miracle from tyhe Almighty.

Each time I start to open this thread I sort of steel myself for what I might see.
This such a horrible and terrible turn of events!
Let's hope the medical team can pull off a miracle.

I know exactly what you are saying. I am the same way when my phone rings or I get a text message from family members. I am praying for that miracle!! I have heard nothing yet this morning. In this case, no news is good news!

With a very heavy heart and a very blurry monitor, I regret to inform you that Jim has passed. I have a lost dear friend who was like a brother to me.

To the TT staff, I wouild like to start the thread in Jim's honor in the In Memory Of section..Please give me a day or so.

Man, This breaks my heart. Although I only knew him on here, I got to know his personality and mannerisms. I would have loved to meet him in person. He was a great guy.
Love and condolences to his family during this trying time.
Steve

Carl this is terrible news, please start a thread for him. I always enjoyed Jim and have had a few good private chats with him here. :(

This is such heart breaking news.
Like Q, I only knew him from the forum, but after so much time on here, he became a friend and a guy I would liked to have met and hang out with.
Heartfelt best wishes to his family and friends.

I just got off the phone with one of Jim's daughters who is an MD. The surgery went longer than was anticipated - 13 hours. Because of the long surgery, Jim developed a blood clot in his leg that moved to his lung. Jim was on a respirator sfter the surgery and the respirator went crazy because it could not get enough oxygen to Jim. That was their clue that he had a blood clot. They did a CAT scan to confirm it and found remnants of the clot in his leg. His heart is under stress because it is trying to pump blood past the clot.

The options are to let the clot dissolve or go in and remove the clot. Either option has its own risks. He has been moved to a different hospital that has the specialists and the equipment to go in and remove the clot. The decision has not yet been made. Jim is strong and a fighter; so far he is holding his own. But he is very critical and his daughter did not want me to get my hopes up too high.

Both she and her mother are holding up pretty well. Jim's other daughter lives here in Florida.
Please keep us all posted.. I'm sure everyone in the Forum , will be thinking about him, every day.
Chris
