As the title suggests I've noticed a vibration through the engine and bars at around 3000 rpm, is this a charateristic of the T509 or is there something that needs attention. Once it starts climbing in revs everything seems to smooth out, it also seems very jerky on and off the throttle which the dealer tells me is the primitive french fuel injection system. Any help suggestions welcome.

This is a tough thing to answer positively on an Internet message board due to not being able to actually feel how bad the vibration is.

Generally speaking, if there really is an abnormal vibration, it would be caused by (a) need of a valve adjustment (b) need to check/replace valve chain tension/er

It's a matter of degree in my opinion. A cam chain being slightly loose or valves slightly in need of adjustment may only give vibrations at certain RPM which would increase over the rev range with severity.

Then again...as I said this type of thing is tough to diagnose over the Internet. The best bet would be to allow another Speed Triple owner to ride yours to see if it's really outside of the norm. So hard to say otherwise from afar.
