I knew my son had passed Gr 9 but our school holds back on which level class the children will be placed in for Gr's 10 -12.
I've just fetched Liam from school and................. he's in Gr 10 "H" and into the Advanced Pure Math programme :y2: as well as IT Programming (and a little IT architecture).
I'm so proud of him I've been blubbing since I picked him up! And he's finally accepted that just a little effort goes a long, long way. But he's now got his work cut out for himself for the next 3 years!:y15:

Congratulations to Liam and to Mom and Dad for instilling values. You have every right and reason to be roud. Keep up the good work, Liam; it will reward you down the road.

Congrats Gromit, that's great news!
So Flying lessons???

Yup - he wants to be a pilot and study Aeronautical Engineering. Last year we promised him that if he aced Gr 9, he could start flying lessons when he turns 16 (legal age to fly) and he'll be 16 in May. A deal is a deal - he aced it and we pay :y2: But this is going to be a pleasure to pay for!

Seeker - he does normal math 2yrs ahead of his age group but advanced pure math is a whole new ballgame. My sentiments too............uuurrrrgggghhhh but he loves it and thinks it's 'easy':y4:

Only thing I hope is that when he turns 18 he asks for a car not a plane!

A bike is do-able. A plane? I don't think so. He really does love Triumphs though - wouldn't think of a Triple for him yet; he still thinks he's invicible. I'll leave the bike-buying decisions to Farside.
