Triumph Bonneville T-140 New Member

Just found this site searching for oil filter kits for my '77 Bonnie. Site looks great, much better than the "Triumph Twins" site that I belong to. 2nd owner of my '77 Bonnie, bought it with 2000 original miles on it. Currently have a short that is immediately blowing main fuse, working on that. I always sign my posts, I don't respond to those who don't/won't.

Pop down to the classics section and start a new thread re your bonnie.
At the top of the reply box you will see a series of icons.
The third one back from the right is an insert image shortcut which will allow you to upload images from your pc or the web.

Thanks for all the kind words, very nice welcome! Here's the bike without the visual "obstruction" on the seat this picture shows the minimal windscreen I use for winter riding. Regarding the color, my favorite on a Bonnie is Aubergine, I just love that color/bike combo. This is the original color so I kept it.
Now I need to find the short that is blowing the 30 amp fuse so I can ride! Any suggestions?

Gorgeous bike. As far as the short goes, you will have to patently hunt it down. It is probably going to be a worn wire shorting out.

My guess would be that the short is most probably inside the headlamp bucket or a worn wire at one of the handlebar switch housings.

It may help to narrow it down by ascertaining if it shorts when the lights are on or off, if it's only when engine is running, when the brakes are applied (front or rear), or when a turn signal is turned on.
