Does anyone know the length of the clutch push rod for the 5-plate clutch (T1456) fitted to the 350 3TA or 21? I think I may have the longer rod as fitted to the 500s with the 6-plate clutch.

can save myself a bit of trouble if somebody can tell me the 'as required' bit.
It is hardly difficult to calculate:-

. either it is the thickness of one drive and one driven plate;

. or, parts book pages 36/37:-

.. measure the thickness of the No.18 "Nut" (the "Adjuster pin" locknut) on your bike;

.. subtract the thickness of the Nut from the length of the Adjuster pin on your bike;

.. if you cut the result of this subtraction off one end of the pushrod, the slotted end of the Adjuster pin will end up level with the outer surface of the Nut when the Nut is tightened on to the pressure plate;

.. if you would like the Adjuster pin to protrude a little above the outer surface of the Nut, cut off a little bit less than the result of the above subtraction;

. harden the cut end of the pushrod.

Or fit one more drive and driven plates, use the pushrod as is?
