You know, i hate to say it, but at this point a good 2+ weeks after the tune, i wasn't digging the volume of the TORs anymore (they got quite loud !) and i just felt like i recall the bike having more torque with the stock pipes. So today i re-installed the stock pipes but left the TORs tune and the UNI filter and man, this is it. I should never have bought those TORS. The bike feels stronger now like i remember B4 the TORs, even with the tune and filter still here. I love it. I'm just not a loud pipe guy anymore, and i find it pathetic that TORs and a UNI and triumph's tune for this made the bike run less strong. Wghat the he|| is that about?!

So i'm leaving it as is fo now and later on i may get the BB kit. If not i will watch the RAT forum for all the mods and tunes and all that which are already starting to happen quickly. If something pops up that seems to make a good performance difference and doesn't make the bike real loud maybe i'll go that way. Maybe just a power commander and a good dyno tune. But whatever i do, i love this bike so much more with the stock pipes ! better sound, no horribly loud popping on decel, (the popping was amazingly loud with TORs. w/o them it's barely noticable !) and better performance. I can live with this forever if need be.

I don't like very loud pipes but am very happy with my short slash from Triumph on the Speedy. The sound is just right they way I love it. Pity these pipe did not work for you maybe you need to sell them on :y18:

I probably will sell them, but i'm in no hurry and who knows what the future will bring. If i sold them now, a day after they're gone someone will post something like "the new tune triumph just released for the TORs added 10 RWHP on the dyno !!!". And then i would have to find myself a noose. :ya2: So i will wait a bit and see how thing evolve.

Dale, I didn't find the TORS too loud. But then I really didn't get a chance to listen to them under hard acceleration or at higher revs. They were definitely louder than the Bonneville TOR's.

It wasn't just that, it's that the bike runs considerably stronger with the stock pipes ! Plus it just has a overall better feel like it's running right again. I also didn't care for the TYPE of sound the TORs gave plus the popping was so out of control it sounded like someone lit a string of very loud firecrakers. it was just all too much sound and too little power. This bike just doesn't benefit like the 900's do. My theory is that because they offer the BB kit that doesn't require TORs to use, and it has hotter cams with it, they probably used a less restrictive exhaust. The stock ones are indeed much louder than my speedy's stock pipes were.

If you actually lost power with the TOR's, the mapping was not right.

Could be, but it was the official triumph TORs map. He said they will likely come out with new improved ones several times over in the coming months and weeks. Not sure if i will bother tho unless someone has one downloaded and posts with a "wow, this is amazing" response about it. Otherwise i'm sticking with what i have and maybe the BB down the road if i desire. Had i not spent the money on the TORs and bought it at the dealer i was first going to buy it at, i'd be getting the BB asap because i'd be up at least $1000 right now ! I bought it at the dealer thats supposed to have the best service dept of any and paid more for that. Then i came to realize thier mech, good or not, is one of those guys who knows everything and won't listen to anything i have to say. And if he does and realizes i was right, he just gets irritated. So i won't even be using them since i found i can have Mickey Cohen do all my wrenching, and he's the cream of the crop for obvious reasons. But man, had i known ! I'd probably have the BB on order right now. I know i said i fear having the engine removed, but i now think it's the only option to get what i want.

Don't hold your breath ! At about $2k total i'm really going to have to think long and hard about that. Plus no way i'm getting it unless i see some others reporting thier before/after results. I need some serious improvement if i'm going to put out that much. It would need to be the type of power that would leave me thinking i'm not going to want more, and 10-12 RWHP (which is what 15 at the crank probably is) may not feel a lot different.

Yeah, but the problem there is it would require a power commander and having it dyno'd every time i changed anything. And just a PC and one tuning is $650, and i can't be sure of the result. especially with stock pipes. But there are a lot of possibilities and i just have to be patient and see what comes out and what others do. British Customs who are right near me are hard at work on pipes, cat removal, tuning etc. So they are at the forefront of Tbird mods.
