....the chrome looks great ! Unfortuanately i'm not sure i have anything good to say about the TORs. They are a bit louder, but not much at all. I'm ok with that, as i don't care for real loud. But the tone isn't good at all. The low growl it had didn't change in any way including volume. But the volume increase was only in the high/midrange region and it drowns out the lows so it sounds higher pitched now, and not in a real good way. Power seems worse too, but i kinda expected that because i haven't been able to get the new tune that comes with them downloaded because the dealer doesn't have the device needed to do that on this particular bike yet. I will get that done next weekend. So i think with less back pressure it's probably normal that it lost some torque with no new EFI map to compensate. I'm hoping that when i have that done i will notice not only a nice increase in power but better tone. I'll be putting a K&N in it too, so that will help. But as of now, i had better see a lot of improvment or i may sell these at a loss and put the stock pipes back on.

On the brighter side of things, and i'm thrilled about this, the dealer told me triumph IS planning a cat bypass kit ! The mech told me they weren't, but he's also the one who told me the cases had to be split to do the big bore. I guess i finally realized i shouldn't take his word on anything for now one ! anyways, this news is big because cat bypass has the potential to add 12 HP not counting what pipes and filer add. Could total more than the BB, tho it won't be street legal as the BB is. Anyways, that made my day hearing that. :ya2:

COOL AS HELL :y115: :y115:
If you get the cat-bypass keep your old parts. I know here in kalifornia they plan smog checks for motorcycles starting in 2011.

Thanks, it looks even better in the flesh. I added the fourth pic that wasn't showing due to wrong file name. I dig the way it says triumph on the back of the mirrors !
The Commiefornia testing initiative got shot down. Ain't gonna happen anytime soon anyways. If it ever does i'll just have to get the BB kit to get my power legally. But i always keep my legal parts...always. You never know.

Thanks, me too....in fact, i think i have to go to the garage for a minute to.....er.....ummmm.....do some laundry ! Yeah, thats right, i have laundry t do !!!!! :ya2:

hey are the chrome switch housings just going over the originals or do you have to take them apart? Is
install very hard??? Looks fantastic :y18:

The housing are all new, not covers. The brake reservoir chrome IS a cover. Thats actually best tho because i'd hate to have had to drain the system, plus it would have been a LOT more expensive for a new res.

i should have the map and filter in by next weekend at the latest, but possibly as early as tuesday if everything comes together and i go there at lunch during the work week. I don't know how it will effect the sound, but i'm sure it will then improve power. the question is how much. And to make things worse, while my answer to Dilligaf about that smog check initiative going down to defeat recently was true, last nite my friend told me they are again bringing it up because the gas prices and recession have caused bike sales to go thru the roof like never before, and because of that i guess it's likelier to now happen. If this is the case it's going to be horrible. My only hope is that like cars they may not require you to do it for the first 5 registration years of a vehicle. So if it starts in 2011, i may not have to do it till 2014, at which point i may be dead or no longer able to ride anyways. :ya2:

I was wondering if the bankrupting of the state might have an impact on added bureaucracy. I hope so for your sake at least. You all should get something out of this latest headache.

BTW, Do you have any word on what the timeline is for that Cat bypass Daz? I know you got some inside information but I hadn't seen if you had any idea on time. I'd love to do it all in one big hit.

One other thing, what all did the chromification of the controls set you back? I've been considering doing this but I'm sort of a minimalist. As it is just swapping one thing for another and not adding on bits like the Harley dresser approach.

$200 for the main kit, $60 for the brake res. cover, $25 for one the "switchcube clamp" which is the same as the one on the left but for whatever reaon they only give you one with the kit. So about $285 total not including the $140 for the mirrors.

For the record i got the new tune for the pipes downloaded to the bike's brain and the power and sound are now good. Sound is a bit throatier and the power instead of being weaker than stock is now a bit better than stock, tho not by much. I'm hoping what it gained now along with the filter will make enough difference to feel happy about it. But i doubt it will be as much as as I had hoped for at best. That will likely have to wait for cat removal. Buy hey, now the bike sounds more like a triumph ! :y115:

Great that the map has made a difference next thing you will need the BB kit :y114:

i dunno bout that ! I will have to wait and see how i feel later on. But at this point i'm finding the bike actually pulls harder than i thought right after the tune. And the sound is now quite nice. So i still have the filter and then the cat bypass to look forward to, and i doubt i'll want the BB after that. But i do have a plan....if that emission testing for bikes DOES happen i will have to remove the cat and pipes to get it to pass. That will be a real PITA because i would have to change the tune back to stock and change out all the hardware, have it tested, then put it all back every year. i don't know how i could do that with the dealer or micky 30-40 miles away. And to work that out every year would be a horrible thing. So the plan if i can't load the tunes myself with a tuneboy of power commander, then i will have to trash the cat and pipes and go with the street legal BB so i will have about the same power benefits and it will pass the testing. I'd miss the pipe tone and volume tho.

True, but if i've already paid for the pipes and cat, the cost will save me from having to trash those and buy the $2000 (includes labor) BB kit. i also don't want my engine removed.
