In a couple of weeks it will be the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic and we are about to get a bit of a Titanic overload here because of the involvement in Halifax with the recovery of the victims.

209 bodies were brought to Halifax and placed in a curling rink as it still had an ice surface and was cold enough to preserve the decomposing bodies.
59 bodies were claimed and shipped out, but 150 never left Halifax and were laid to rest in three cemeteries. Fairview Cemetery has 121 and is shown in the picture. The others are in two other cemeteries.
