If you purchased Triumph's sump guard option for your Tiger 800XC to replace the plastic stock guard, you might have noticed that the two regular bolts on the front don't look very 'skid-ready'. Maybe you left them as-is. They always bothered, almost embarrassed me, just sticking out there, so when I upgraded my stock handguards to BarkBusters, there were a couple of pieces that I thought could be repurposed.
The screws that came out of the ends of the handlebars, along with the special washers under them, are not reused when you install the BarkBusters. I removed the bolts on the sump guard and compared the threads. They were the same! Even the lengths were the same! So I swapped them out and now they look much better.
