Since I plan to do most of my own service on my new xc I was wondering how to reset the service light when i need to - nothing about it in the service manual
Thanks

Re: reset engine service light?

It would seem that this had to be done by the dealer, what you could do is when you do have it reset get them to make the next service at a very high mileage so you will not be bothered by it again for some time

You can use DealerTool to reset the the service light and service miles indicator. TuneECU does not have this feature. The only way to reset error codes or the service mileage indicator is by computer. Tune ECU is free; DealerTool is not. Both work well. I have TuneECU and a friend has DealerTool so I have not had to purchase DealerTool.

Oh yes; if it saves one trip to the dealer for an hour of labor, it has paid for itself. Also I suggest that you download TuneECU for ease of changing your mapping should you need to. It is free - and works well.

I'll Download tune ecu as well Thanks

When my Tiger was relatively new a local auto mechanic was admiring it in my shop. I mentioned that since I have no local dealer the service symbol had been on for guite some time. He went out to his truck and got his universal diagnostic tool and plugged it into Tiggers ECU port . A few seconds later the wrench was gone . Next time it came back it stayed. Brooke
