I recently split my airbox for a K&N filter, so maybe that will have a payback now?!Hi there , unfortunately you do have to slide the carbs back as its just to tight to get it on between the barrels and carbs , and the cable has to be crurled down hill to get the nipple in its slot .

Update…I did not remove the carbs. It took me two hours of attempting it with no knowledge of how the cable actually attached, 30 minutes of YouTube searches to finally discern how the cable actually attached to the carb, another 20 minutes to remove the existing cable end that was preventing me from ever installing the new cable, and another 15 minutes to finagle the new cable into place. Buttoning it up now.
