Triumph Motorcycles are close to my heart for a number of reasons. The personal connection is that my Aunt and Uncle, Joan and Charlie Watson, were avid riders and contributors to motorcycling and motorcycle racing. In the 60's, they opened Joan's Chain & Sprocket Sport Shop, in Wayne, NJ, USA, and they ran it until the late 70's. They were a Triumph dealer, and every member of my family proudly wore their Triumph Motorcycles T-Shirts and jacket, each emblazoned with the big "Joan's Chain & Sprocket" logo on the back.
When other kids in school brought their goldfish or hamsters in to "Show and Tell", we brought Aunt Joan and her motorcycle fame.
I've just purchased, from a very cool old Viet Nam veteran, a 1977 Bonneville 750, in good physical and mechanical shape, I think, but with electrical/wiring harness issues. My goal is to get this baby running, then slowly restore it to where I want it to be.
Thanks for welcoming me, and I look forward to reading what this Experience- and Brain-Trust has to say about all things Triumph.
